Dr. Val Arkoosh
Val, the first woman to Chair the county’s Board of Commissioners, has led innovative county reforms — restoring our county’s fiscal health, improving access to Human Services, preserving open space and expanding trails. A practicing physician for over 20 years, most recently at the University of Pennsylvania, Val stepped into public service to combat the many challenges outside of the exam room that were affecting her patients’ health. Val lives in Springfield Township with her husband, Jeff Harbison, and their three children.
